I read 10 Reasons Why Peter Obi Should Be the President of Nigeria by Maazi Tunde Ednut, and I was impressed by the challenge not just by the write-up, but by the calibre of people who support Peter Obi. These are Nigerians who truly have the future of Nigeria at heart. Well-meaning citizens who believe in this evolution that says A New Nigeria Is Possible, and who are willing to support it with their sweat, time, and resources.
These are youths and patriots who want to see a Nigeria that works for them and for future generations, not those who join the queue of stomach infrastructure, let’s eat today, tomorrow let the suffering continue.
After carefully going through Tunde Ednut’s 10 reasons, I wish to join the challenge and urge every member of the Obidient Movement to key in. Tunde Ednut has started it; let every Obidient state clearly why Peter Obi should be supported.
Here are my own 10 reasons why His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, should be supported for President of Nigeria:
1. He is younger than the other major candidates, and naturally represents the hopes, energy, and future of Nigerian youths.
2. His excellent performance as Governor of Anambra State speaks for itself. If he could achieve so much at the state level, imagine the scale of impact with a broader national vision as President.
3. He is competent and prudent, with a proven record of sound economic management and accountability.
4. He is compassionate beyond politics. Even without being in power, Peter Obi uses his personal resources to renovate and equip schools and health centers, investing in education and healthcare, the true foundation of any nation and the future of unborn generations.
5. He has genuine human empathy. He brings governance to the grassroots, feels the pain of ordinary Nigerians, and stays connected to the people always, not a politician who only remembers the masses during elections.
6. He believes in cutting down the cost of governance. He practiced this in Anambra State, and the resources saved from reduced wastage are part of why the state remained financially stable long after his tenure.
7. He understands the economy and production, not just consumption. Peter Obi believes Nigeria must produce what it consumes, through agriculture, manufacturing, and SMEs, rather than borrowing endlessly to survive.
8 He stands for accountability and transparency. His lifestyle and public service history show a leader who sees public funds as sacred, not as personal or party property.
9 He inspires hope and restores trust in leadership. For the first time in a long while, Nigerians, especially youths, believe their voice, vote, and future can truly count.
10. He represents a break from the old order. Peter Obi symbolizes a new political culture based on competence, character, and service, not entitlement, propaganda, or recycled failure.
This is my contribution to the challenge.
Now it’s your turn.
Why do YOU support Peter Obi?
Let every Obidient speak.
Let hope be louder than fear.
Because truly, A New Nigeria Is Possible.
PeterObi
