Peter Obi in Cape Town, calls for shift in Africa’s development path

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, arrived in Cape Town, South Africa, to participate in the Spier Dialogue 2026, a high level forum focused on Africa’s future and global development challenges.

Obi disclosed that the event comes at a critical moment for the continent, as African nations continue to confront challenges in governance, democracy, economic inclusion, urbanization, migration, and leadership. He noted, however, that Africa also holds significant promise driven by its youthful population and growing creativity
